Gib maybe one of the newest members of Highwater, but he isn't a stranger to bluegrass or country music. Having played banjo with several groups based out of North Carolina and Virginia he has discovered his very own signature sound that when heard will set your soul free from any banjo joke you may have up your sleeve. Going back to his roots Gib was born and raised in Archie, MO, but it wasn't tell has move to Edenton, NC were he discovered his true calling to life. Through his years in North Carolina he has seen his share of festivals and concerts. He has shared the stage with many bands such as Shiloh Grass, Out N' The Cold, 40$ Mule, Sun BackedPossum, Highway 32, Just In Time and to many more to name. After 4 years of playing out in the Tar Heal State he decided it was time to come home to Missouri and what a good choice it was. It was then in April of 2009 that he found a new home in bluegrass and that was with the Highwater String Band. A much more up tempo band who carries out the old ways of bluegrass but have a hard drive to them. For some folks collage and a pain staking job is what they dream of, but for this talented individual it's the music that has captured his look at life.
