Susan Gibson and her Contra Band

Kahlen slaps an 'ol Juzik doghouse bass and runs it through a K&K pick.

Kahlen holds down the doghouse bass for the Highwater String Band. She grew up outside of Desoto Kansas where she found the love of bass instruments at a young age. Starting in elementary school she took up the bass clarinet which took her all the way through college. A year after graduating she took up the upright and has been slappin it ever since.
